So, You wanna be a Graphic Designer? →
As part of Career Camp, a series of talks at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn, New York, that commenced this week, Liz Danzico discussed how to ask good questions in the face of career changes—whether those changes are in the pursuit of learning within your own company or a more significant career change. She advised the audience to ask themselves, “Who do you seek out when you think about...

I'm not sure why,
but when I see somone asking for a retweet (certain exceptions exist) it seems…gross. Like (and I know this may be a reach) asking for a blow job. It’s never as good if you have to ask!

Hiding from my responsibilites while trying to...
It’s hard to get work done sometimes. Even when you’re at work. Lucky for me, my office has a couple of good “hiding spots”. That is to say: people know about these places, but never check if people are in them. So, here I am, in one of these spots, trying to work uninturrupted. We’ll see how that goes. When I get off Tumblr, of course.

Hard Line
Know a good song? Hard Line by Jill Barber. If I had an mp3 I’d post it, but I don’t. So go get it somewhere. While you’re at it, get all her songs. They’re good.
The Story of My Very Own Apartment
I didn’t want to jinx it by talking about it before it happened, but I finally found an apartment. I was really, really bitter (still kind of am - can you tell?) but I had no choice but to move forward. And so I kept looking....

I need budget design inspiration.
jgh:
I’d like to make my room look like a real Grown Up lives here (first thing first: get a bed frame so I’m not just on a mattress on the goddamn floor) but everything on Apartment Therapy is like, 6,000 dollars or some such. I mean, I love Mid Century Modern just as much as the next girl, but that Eames stuff gets pricy.
How do I break out of Ikea hell?
There’s something here. People...
This is day 1 of not eating out for lunch OR...
Breakfasts are OK because I typically only get a bagel or something under $5. If I get a caffinated beverage, I’m not allowed to get anything else with it, so it’s either/or. This is in an effort to minimize how much I spend, but also, the ammount of transactions I get charged for on my debit card.
Interesting life, eh?
