Ever look through a “friend’s” pictures on Facebook and start thinking like one of those celebrity “body language experts” trying to figure out who’s sleeping with who based on which way their toes are pointed? YOU DO. DON’T LIE.

A Tale of Two Cities
Surprisingly I’m still feeling quite homesick - especially since I seem to have caught a cold. All of this down time with no money and a stuffy nose has given me ample opportunity to think about all of the things I miss about Halifax and the people there. My friend Sam sent me this article from The Walrus about Vancouver. He said it made him want to come here, and that if I had 10 minutes to...

So I decided to go with “HIRE ME!” as the subject line in the email that I painstakingly drafted. Might get me a job, might make me the laughing stock of this person’s entire office. I’ll let you know.

I am
still unemployed. I have been in Vancouver for a few weeks and still can’t seem to land a job. I actually can’t even get anyone to call or email me back. It’s discouraging, but I will continue to send emails and drop off resumes because I don’t really have a choice in the matter and pretty soon I will be very short for money in a city where things aren’t exactly...

I really just spew random stuff on this blog and the dashboard is a place I can come back to whenever I want and read about the lives of the people I find interesting (and some people who I know offline). That said, not having a real “following” means I never usually get a good response when I ask for...

Ace Hotel Mural by Timothy Goodman. 99 "frames"...
Goodman ” … hand drew 99 picture frames to create a dense wall of “discovery” about NYC that could be passed to the common tourist staying in the room” I love insanely detail oriented, meticulous things that take a long time to do. It is also nice that he practiced some (necessary) restraint and kept it to black only.

Things of note:
I am making friends! This is a good thing because: a) It means I’m not recluse and sitting on my bed looking at the computer screen longing for home. b) It opens up the possibility of making more friends. Soon I will have so many friends I won’t know what to do!! Okay, that won’t happen, but I will have lots? I’m working on getting a job. This takes a lot of work and a lot...
