1. Semi-Vegi

    On this topic.

I like to eat meat. I like how it tastes. I have a hard time with the thought of never eating it again, or, say, limiting myself to eating beef 0-1 times per month like Marco suggests, but I do like the thought of cutting back. I don’t really eat much meat anyway. So far this week I’ve only had a couple slices of ham (eggs benny). Other meals have mainly consisted of fish* (shrimp and salmon).

I think one of the main reasons I haven’t been eating as much meat now that I’m living on my own is because of the associated cost. Chicken is not cheap - at least not in Canada - and I can never really eat a whole chicken breast on my own unless I’m extremely hungry, so it just goes to waste in the fridge.

Semi-Vegi is a nice way to stay healthy and feel better as well as cut back on your grocery bill. As Marco mentioned you can start small… It really isn’t that hard to find meals without meat when you’re eating out and at home it’s even easier.

*See Marco’s thoughts on fish here. I do really enjoy fish, and while I know as living creatures they probably aren’t treated very well either, fishing is the livelihood of a large portion of Nova Scotians, so somehow it’s not as huge an issue for me.
