And I have to look into getting a couple of vaccines for my trip to Peru (in 31 days!)… Not only do the needles hurt my arm - they hurt my wallet, too. I have no health insurance, but even if I did, none of the vaccines I need are covered by that. So I’ll end up paying at least 200 bones to get poked… I’d go without them only I don’t know what Yellow Fever is and it doesn’t sound good. Plus my mom will not allow it. Last night she warned me that I must NEVER walk around in Peru without shoes on for fear I step on the venom of a poisonous caterpillar. For realz. They exist.
Also last night I let my mom read the itinerary for the trip. She is now supporting me with this project. I wasn’t getting a very supportive vibe from her (my dad donated $100, so I figured that was support enough). She even went as far as to say she’d love to go and see/do all of the wicked stuff we’ll get to do when we’re there (camping at some hot springs, anyone?!?). I feel vindicated. She said when they see how much I save they will help me out.
I suck at saving money, but I got a second job. I’m going to be one of those girls who gives away free samples of Vitamin Water. Hey- at least it’s not beer and I don’t have to wear a miniskirt and bikini top. We get to wear nice, pink golf shirts. Because somehow golf and Vitamin Water mesh well. And the nice woman who’s coordinating the sampling schedule said that I could wear whatever I wanted with the shirt, adding she wants it to look “funky and fun”.
Ahem. You’re giving me a golf shirt to work with?
So that money will go directly to my Peru fund, and Hopefully I won’t have to use it because we raise enough money as a group. We’ve come so far already ($14,000), I know we can push for the rest. We’re designers after all - we can change the world!!
