1. I Agree with Meaghan. WHY ARE THERE NO SCREENS ON WINDOWS HERE?! Why can’t someone answer this question? Every time I put it out there I get the BC answer of “that’s just the way it is.” Not acceptable. That’s just the way … I don’t even know.
2. Tattoos are not offensive. Ever. That is my stance on that issue. Period.
3. I can no longer keep count of the number of people who have come from Halifax to Vancouver to live in the past two months. It’s like that new car thing; you buy a car and all of a sudden it’s like everyone else on the road is driving the same make/model. Nothing is original*, but it is nice to have more than 10 friends and acquaintances. It also reminds me that no matter how big I perceive a place to be, it only gets exponentially smaller as days go by.
4. Friends of my family had a house fire on Wednesday and are now staying with my parents. They didn’t lose everything, but are displaced and probably in shock. I can’t imagine that feeling and never want to. Therefore, my shitty job and boring life have been put in perspective. At least my house (basement apartment) hasn’t burned down.
5. And a last note on work: “Keep the energy up?” God. That’s like having someone say, “You’re so much prettier when you smile.” I save my “energy” and my smiles for when I really mean it. Thanks for the tip, though.
*I didn’t come here to be original, but you know what I mean.
