1. Pre-Shrunk 2012 Favourites

Tonight is the opening of the Pre-Shrunk show at Argyle Fine Art (1559 Barrington St., 7pm). The premise is pretty cool:

…200 works to choose from by a large selection of artists working in a variety of mediums. All of the works measure 4”x5” and sell for $175.

Argyle Fine Art has released the entire collection online so that patrons can view early and scout out the pieces they’d like to buy.

Of course, I did a little bit of window shopping myself. You can see my picks below.

  2. Everynone

I’m a huge fan of the concepts that everynone uses video to portray. Spot on. Also, their name! It’s one of those things I wish I had come up with. Check out three of my favorite pieces below:

  3. I wouldn’t want to be the one who has to dust all of his collections. I hate dusting.

  4. Holy. I really really love these paintings. Wouldn’t it be awesome to own this collection and display it together? I think so.

i know i have been nearly a complete stranger most recently, i am terribly sorry. shit has hit the fan and i have been doing my best to clean it up, despite the awful smell (haha.) with over 30 rolls of my negatives missing, feuds with friends and family, my significant other leaving for two months, and being more broke than i have ever even thought possible, it’s been easier just to sort of disappear for a while. fortunately (maybe) i have still been able to make photographs, thanks to a small stash of film i had saved up, and i even went through ten rolls on my mamiya, which will be interesting. unfortunately, i have over 40 rolls of film to develop and i cant even afford rent, so who knows when i will be reminded of those memories again. on the contrary, i have been working on some writing, i began working on my novel again, and i am trying to complete a few smaller projects in the meantime.
i have just been a debbie downer because i might have to turn down what could have been or what might possibly still be an incredible opportunity just because i was irresponsible with my negatives while couch surfing in thirteen different homes during those eight months and now i have absolutely no idea where over 30 rolls of my negatives are. it makes me feel empty.
anyway, i just wanted to give you my sincerest apologies for being such a stranger and give you a small tidbit of what is going on in my life at the moment. i miss you and hopefully we’ll speak again soon.

Someone please go buy some of this girl’s photos so she can pay her rent and take some more photos, and put the horrible feeling of losing important things behind her. Or at least send good energy her way, so maybe she can find them. I really like her work. I would buy some, but I’m pretty broke right now, too.
