My favorite thing to do (because I live in my parents’ basement) is to dream of the place(s) I will someday live with 10 cats and one Frenchie (newest obsession, hoping it’ll pass).
Lifestyle blogs come in all shapes and sizes, from creating completely 100% unique content, to curating the best from around the web. I’m cool with the former and the latter; they fill my pinterest boards, give me unlimited inspiration, and soothe my voyeuristic side.
(I mean, let’s be honest. Everyone wants to know if the grass really is greener over there, right?)
Here are my top 10 11!
I don’t have a blogroll on my site (it would be looonggg, let me tell you!) so I thought I’d do a few roundups this week of the blogs that are in high rotation for me.
Beauty blogs are having a bit of a moment right now; almost gaining as much popularity as fashion blogs. I enjoy the combo of both in my google reader. I appreciate these girls because they do all of the leg work for me! I get honest reviews and opinions on what’s out there. All of my real life friends are gorgeous, but none are really beauty freaks or fashion obsessed, so it’s nice to have these opinions to go off.
Instead of a Links and Likes this week, I’m just going to brag about getting out of Halifax for the weekend (which isn’t really a brag, because it sounds like it’ll be a great weekend here)! I’m heading to Toronto for a bit of a random weekend. Hoping to meet up with Laurel of Pretty Together to be girly and take photos for a blog feature! I’m also going to see friends that I’ve been missing a ton. Oh, and some shopping. And eating. And spa-going.
Above are a few of the things I really hope to do/see while I’m there, but I’ve got an entire google map with places pinned to visit. There’s no way I’m going to get everything in.
I’ll be taking lots of photos and probably way too many instagrams. If you like seeing things as they happen, be sure to follow me over there or on twitter as that’s where I usually post photos on the go. If not, check back soon; I’m packing five rolls of 35mm and two packs of Impossible film that I intend to use!

I’ve recently started filling my google reader with all of the blogs I had bookmarked and/or committed to memory to visit when I had time. It’s been a couple of weeks since I started using it, and I have to say: I really love it…
…but.
There are so many blogs out there you guys! Think about it. All the ones you look at on tumblr, the ones written by people you know, the ones that talk about things you like, ones that help you in your field of work. It’s overwhelming. It’s also humbling. My blog is but a blip on the radar in a sea of a bajillion other really interesting blogs.
So, the purpose of this long-winded intro is to say that I want to share with you the blogs that I like*. I’ll break them down in “categories” as best I can. A lot have crossover though, so you should really just check them all out if you haven’t already.
