1. Fall Film

Some photos I took this fall using Ilford film. I’d it’s my favorite for b&w.

I photographed Anne for her blog a while back. She’s shuch a lovely lady and her cooking is amazing. I sampled a gingerbread cake and a delicious quinoa and beet salad on the day I took these photos. On top of that, as I was about to finish up, she decided to make some homemade granola! It’s clear her passion is cooking and baking for her family. Everything tastes like it was made with a little extra dash of love.

  2. Black and White and Summer all over.

As mentioned, I had a roll of black and white film being processed. I definitely have a big soft spot for black and white photography & I’m pretty happy with how this roll turned out (even with the light leak issue).

  3. Light Leaks In

I’ve been shooting 35mm film with my Minolta x-700 for a year or so now and I’ve always been pretty happy with the results. This roll I was a little sad to see some pretty intense light leaks happening, so I’ll have to look into fixing it once the roll that’s currently in there is finished up.

I still have a b&w roll that I’m waiting on and I’m hoping that one didn’t get as affected by the leak, but I’m preparing myself for it. It’s such a different relationship with the images when they’re taken this way and especially when I get them processed at Black’s and that part of the image-making is out of my hands.

Regardless, I’m in love with some of these images and I can so vividly recall the feeling at the time that most of these photos were taken; the first few at a friend’s birthday/Canada Day weekend in Lunenburg and the last diptych from my cousin’s wedding on a rainy July day in Moncton.

  4. I got three rolls of film back from the lab today. Some of the results I was happy with. Others? Not so much. I’m finally getting a handle on which type of film I prefer and when it works best for me.
This particular photo (shot on Kodak Portra 400) is one from my trip to cut down a Christmas tree with my mom, dad, and neighbours.
You can see more from that outing, last fall, and new year’s on my flickr.

  5. Sometimes I take photos with this old 35mm camera that I found on Kijiji for $50. It’s actually become the favourite camera in my collection to make photos with. Sometimes I find cute cats lounging about and take photos of them. Or airports… or pies.
